Promoting Higher Education Academy (HEA) Recognition
The HEA has developed a professional recognition scheme to support the implementation of the sector-owned Professional Standards Framework, conferring Associate (AHEA) and Fellow (FHEA) status in recognition of individuals’ commitment to enhancing the student learning experience. UoB expects all academic staff to become recognised by the HEA.
The materials will be promoting two routes:
· UoB’s HEA-accredited institutional course - Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PgCAP) for staff new to the University and with less than three years teaching experience in HE.
· the direct application route for more experienced staff with more than three years teaching experience in HE.

The AARDVARK project is part of the JISC funded Building Capacity programme and is primarily concerned with developing and formalising the application of information systems in the operation of research degree programmes within the University of Bedfordshire.

Language Centre is the University of Bedfordshire's department devoted to helping students with any language problems. So, we can speak to a student/read their work or ask them to do a grammar test in order to understand their problem areas, and provide help.
It is open every weekday until 6.30pm and is equipped with a number of computers with language learning programmes, a small library of English language learning books and lists of websites that provide self-study materials on all aspects of English.

Research Methods Training
Consultancy and Training Centre: The Psychology Department has offered a very successful programme of research methods training workshops to University of Bedfordshire staff and others since October 2008. It includes workshops for both qualitative and quantitative research methods and is due to commence again in October 2010. Booking a place on these workshops can be done through the University ODTU. Our future plan is to advertise the Consultancy and Training Centre externally and to offer research methods training workshops, and other sessions, to include, stress management and coaching and creative problem solving externally.

Inclusivity in the Curriculum
The working group on inclusivity in the curriculum has been convened under the auspices of the Higher Education Academy Summit A programme on inclusive teaching, learning and assessment. During 2010 the working group is consulting with a range of staff and student forums to consider ways of building upon the Education Strategy and CRe8 framework in order to ensure that course design and delivery:
· minimise barriers to learning;
· respond to the diversity of backgrounds, nationalities and life experiences of the student body; and
· maximize the potential of that diversity for preparing students for the global workplace and citizenship.

We do this by producing an annual newsletter and a quarterly Ezine. We also maintain the alumni website which carries news and profiles.
Our aim is to nurture affinity with Bedfordshire alumni. By doing this we can:
