Gerald Remy

I am a state registered dietitian with over 23 years of continuous NHS professional practice. During this time I have worked in a number of settings, including major teaching hospitals in London fulfilling such roles as acute hospital dietitian, community dietitian, GP dietitian, diabetes specialist dietitian, obesity dietitian, enteral feeding dietitian, gastro specialist dietitian, oncology specialist dietitian and free-lance dietitian.

My dietetic roles have covered a wide section of the population, allowing me to provide dietetic support to numerous groups including, children, teenagers, mother & baby groups, the elderly, obese patients, neurological patients, eating disorders patients, mental health patients, religious groups, young offenders, social workers and a dietetic service to prison inmates.

My most recent NHS role was as a dietetic manager at Milton Keynes University Hospital, where I led a team of 28 dietitians for a number of years, covering adult inpatient and outpatient care, paediatrics and community dietetics. The community dietitians played a special public health role in the areas of adult obesity and diabetes management and providing a paediatric service for overweight children.

Since 2018, I left the NHS to concentrate on private practice, specialising in the areas of gastroenterology and oncology. I am super excited about my role at the University of Bedford where I will have the opportunity to share my passion, knowledge and experience that I have gained as a reflective dietetic practitioner.
