Graduate Of The Year Award (GOYA) - Computing

The annual Graduate Of The Year Award will be presented to a graduate of the Department of Computer Science and Technology.

The winner will demonstrate outstanding career progression in the five years since graduating.

There are two prizes. The winner will receive £15,000 and the runner-up £7,500.

It is a condition of the award that the recipients will receive half of the prize money with the other half being donated to an area of support of their choosing within the University.

The applicants will need to demonstrate:

  • Business achievements
  • Academic attainment
  • Enterprise and initiative
  • Team work and inter-personal skills
  • Technical knowledge and skills
  • Management, marketing and promotional skills

All applicants are to complete an application form and personal statement. The panel of judges will draw up a short list.

Short listed alumni will then need to provide references and further evidence of their achievements.

The winner and runner-up are expected to attend the summer graduation ceremonies to receive their awards.

Application forms must be received in the Development and Alumni Relations Office by Friday 29 April 2011 to be eligible.
