Ndifreke Atang
MPhil Student
Ndifreke is currently a PhD student in the Institute of Health Research. Her study, under the supervision of Dr Nasreen Ali and Professor Gurch Randhawa, aims to explore the perceptions and experiences of infertility among the Black Caribbean and African communities in the UK.
Ndifreke obtained a Bachelors degree in Genetics and Biotechnology in 2009 from the University of Calabar – Nigeria. She began her postgraduate studies at the University of Bedfordshire in 2011.
Her MSc research studies explored knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) survey regarding access and utilisation of maternity services in Nigeria.
Ndifreke has also undertaken some certificate courses to improve her skills in public health career and project management. She is a member of the Royal Society of Public Health.
Ndifreke has worked with the state Ministry of Health in Nigeria as a project assistant on various projects to execute healthcare programmes aimed at creating awareness regarding maternal health care causes of morbidity and mortality.
She is interested in maternal and reproductive healthcare, culture and ethnicity.
