Dr Pei-Ching Tseng

Research Midwife

Pei-Ching Tseng

Dr Pei-Ching Tseng is a Research Midwife at the Maternal and Child Health Research Centre and an administrator of the Institute for Health Research Ethics Committee at the University of Bedfordshire.

She works in the area of health inequalities. She has extensive experience in conducting randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews, and research methodologies that encompass both qualitative and quantitative approaches. She excels in data integration, synthesising information from various sources and comprehensive datasets, creating clear and informative charts and tables to effectively communicate research findings. She completed a conceptually and empirically rich PhD thesis on the 'acceptability and effectiveness of a multimedia exercise program for postpartum women with lumbopelvic pain in Taiwan'. It included evidence of a systematic review and a pragmatic RCT methodology study on the effectiveness of exercise programs for Lumbopelvic Pain among postnatal women.

Her current research work with Dr Shuby Puthussery in maternal health is centred on health services research and health inequalities, addressing critical health issues that affect diverse populations. These publications primarily focus on the disparities in access to health services experienced by ethnic minorities, while examining their health-seeking behaviours, with the intention of further improving health service outcomes.
