Whether you need something simple or you want to get involved in a multi-million pound collaboration, we want you to know that the Research & Innovation Service have done this before and we can help you with any of the elements you need.

What can you expect?

Getting to know you and your needs

Have an initial chat with one of our Business Partnership team. We’ll ask about you and your company.

Agree NDA (PDF) if needed.

Tell us your problems, aims and ambitions.

We will find you the right programmes, academic experts and resources.

Planning a project

Meet with the academic experts and discuss possible solutions.

Agree a scope, milestones and timeline with the academic.

Agree ownership of the Intellectual Property in accordance with our IP Policy (PDF)

Formalise any Contract (DOCX) required.

Your dedicated academic conducts the necessary actions to move the project along. For example, collaborative R&D, PhD supervision, helping put a graduate in place and overseeing their work, or conducting research, attending workshops and writing a paper.

If you’re applying for grant funding as part of the project, we will assist with that too.

The academic will discuss future collaborations with you.

This is where things matter:

We will ask for your feedback.

We will capture any immediate results and agree timelines for capturing future impact.

We can create case studies with you.

We will look at publication potential.
