At the University of Bedfordshire we have a strong vision for our Centre for Academic Partnerships.
We initiate, develop and sustain high-quality partnerships with regional and national organisations which reflect our own mission and values.
Through our partnerships, especially with schools and colleges, we widen participation and access to higher education enabling all young people to aspire to a university education
A very important part of our work is Widening Participation - this is a government policy of making sure that everyone has an equal chance of going on to university, whatever their personal circumstances.
Through the Access Partnership Programme (APP) our Access Partnership Team (APT) is involved in working together with educators, families, communities and groups to encourage all learners to aspire to university, particularly people who are under-represented in higher education.
We also develop and manage UK partnerships with colleges which deliver our courses and partner with schools, community organisations, and strategic bodies regionally and nationally.

The University of Bedfordshire prides itself on its civic and community relations and the Centre for Academic Partnerships supports this through various initiatives.
Our Arts & Culture team deliver arts projects that make a difference to the communities in which we work. In partnership with a range of organisations including Arts Council England and Luton Culture, we support artists to thrive creatively, economically and socially and increase opportunities for everyone to participate in the arts.
SportBeds brings together all sporting activities for students, colleagues and the community, providing a wide range of activities, support and facilities which expand access to sport.
We also carry out research on partnership working and collaborative practices so we can share our expertise and broaden the horizons and experience of University of Bedfordshire colleagues and students.
