1st July 2020

In light of the pandemic, CRELLA was forced to postpone its Spring seminar. Instead, in July we hosted our first online research seminar. It proved to be a great success, attracting attendees from all over the world.

At this event we were fortunate to welcome the following invited speakers

  • Prof Andrea Révész (University College London): The Role of proficiency in second language writing processes and outcomes
  • Dr Jing Xu and Annabelle Pinnington (Cambridge Assessment): Developing computer-based speaking tasks to assess the ‘mediation’ construct

We will also had a presentation from a member of the CRELLA team

  • Dr John Field: Idle chatter? A fresh look at what really goes on in tests of interactive speaking
