Dawn Hesketh-Joslin

Dawn is a 'Architectural Spatial Designer' with over twenty-five years experience in professional practice, within design consultancies and architectural practice. Her work has taken her to sites in UK, Europe and South-East Asia. She founded spacedawn* interior design and architecture in 2013.

Dawn’s creative practice has focused on commercial spatial design and branded environments and the application of 'brand' to enhance user journey and experience. She has also designed for retail, leisure, restaurants, bars, clubs, museums, education, theatre and workplace with sites in UK, Europe, China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Projects include: The Victoria + Albert Museum, The Wellington Museum, Virgin Clubs, Heaven, Boots, Marks + Spencer, De Bijenkorf, Thames Water, and Fortress.

Responsibilities at UOB

Dawn is an 'Educator', teaching in Higher Education since 2004, she is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for BA(Hons) Interior Design + BA(Hons) Interior Architecture, and is Cluster Leader for Body Space Make ( a collaboration between Interior, Fashion and Product Design ). She is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy and an Educator Member of the British Institute of Interior Design.

Dawn is presently researching ‘Breathing Space’: an exploration of architectural spatial design and its impact on mental health and wellbeing, and intends to take this into a PhD.

Dawn is a passionate believer in 'creative self expression' through design, collaboration, education, nurture, and play.
