Vice Chancellor's Scholarship
This scholarship is for students who are talented and gifted within their chosen subject area and is worth up to £27,000 in value over 3 years.
A maximum of eight students receive the Vice Chancellor's Scholarship. It is available one student per year in each University of Bedfordshire Faculty.
The Vice Chancellor's Scholarship is a discretionary award.
Who is eligible for the Vice Chancellor's Scholarship
The Vice Chancellor's Scholarship is available to new, first year Home/EU students who meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be a new, first year student on, or have applied for, a full time BA/BSc/BEd degree for which the maximum allowable fee is charged for Home/EU student;
- Open to applicants based in UK/EU who are not on a NHS/TA funded course;
- Applicants must be on, or have applied for, a course delivered at the University of Bedfordshire and not at an accredited partner college

As part of the application form you must include a supporting statement detailing how you will benefit from the award of the scholarship and your academic achievements within your chosen subject area to date which could include any exam results you have achieved, predicted grades or school prizes.
Applications received by the deadline will be considered by the Faculty Finance Officers and be subject to consideration by the Dean of the Faculty where the course of study will be taking place.
The Dean of Faculty will recommend from a shortlist of applicants a suitable candidate to the Vice Chancellor who will make a final decision.
How will the Vice Chancellor's Scholarship be paid?
The scholarship will be paid in five instalments in the first year of study to the value of £9,000 and will be a mixture of cash, Aspire card credit towards books and digital resources and a flexible payment option to allow recipients to direct payments towards accommodation, travel or childcare costs depending on their own financial circumstances.
When is the deadline to apply for the Vice Chancellor's Scholarship?
The deadline for applications has been extended to 30 November 2014.
