The Big Trunk Trail
Find out more about our elephants for Keech’s Big Trunk Trail
Keech Hospice Care is celebrating its 30-year anniversary of caring for children and adults with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. This year they are saying thank you and raising support by holding a fantastic public art event in Luton called ‘The Big Trunk Trail’.
We are the educational sponsor for the event and will be working closely with The Big Trunk Trail to develop our relationships with key schools and help to develop events for school and educational organisations like The Level Trust. The events take place this summer and include a two-week safari themed summer school for children living in poverty in Luton.
In addition to supporting The Big Trunk Trail we are also taking the opportunity to become part of the fundraising team for Keech. We are aiming to raise £1000 by the time the trail ends in October. If you would like help get us to our target you can donate through our donation page here.

We are sponsoring two elephants, ‘Artie’ and our baby elephant ‘Bedzy’ who will both be appearing around Luton and the University on the trail.
‘Artie’ has been designed and painted by local artist Amy Bourbon to be dressed like an artist with blue dungarees, painting equipment & paint splatters. You can find 'Artie' outside of our School of Art & Design's Alexon Building in the centre of Luton.
‘Bedzy’ our baby elephant was designed as part of a competition we held asking students, staff and the local community to submit their designs. The chosen winning design was by Graeme S. from Luton with one half of ‘Bedzy’ showing a University of Bedfordshire Graduation gown and the other showing a Beds Nursing Student Uniform. ‘Bedzy’ was painted by our Outreach Team is on display in our STEM Building Windows alongside 3 other baby elephants from other local organisations.
Visit the Big Trunk Trail website to view the trail map around Luton here and be sure to tag us in any photos if you spot ‘Artie’ & ‘Bedzy’!
