Postgraduate Support

We know that studying at university often requires balancing other work and personal commitments.

Our friendly and flexible environment ensures you will receive all the support you need.

We offer a range of services that will help you deal with whatever comes your way.

Getting to know SiD

All of our support services can be accessed through the Student Information Desk (or SiD as we like to call it).

SiD is based in our the Luton Campus Centre, and also at our other University campus locations, and can even be accessed online 24/7.

Whether you are on-campus or off-campus, our student support advisers are always here to help you with:

Professional and Academic Development

SiD can put you in touch with our Professional and Academic Development experts, who offer support to students if they want to develop a particular skill.

Pad also provides a series of free study skills workshops at both the Luton and Bedford campuses, as well as one-to-one tutorials.

Personal tutors

Our postgraduate students are assigned a personal tutor for their first year, once they register at the University. Tutors can assist with your transition to University, your academic performance, and general health and well-being.

Making you more employable

Whether you're looking for a job to help fund you through your studies, or need some help preparing your CV, the Careers and Employability Services is here to help.

Your health and wellbeing

Both Luton and Bedford have student health centres where you can make appointments to see a doctor or practice nurse. The centres can also refer you to specialist services, such as physiotherapy, and there is an out-of-hours service for emergencies.

Our Disability Advice Team is also available to discuss additional support issues you may have and can provide services such as sign language interpreters, note takers, dyslexia screening/tuition and support with mobility on campus. Find out more about the health centres.

Your faith

Our Chaplaincy team in Luton - the Treehouse, and our team in Bedford - SeedBeds, welcome people of all faiths.

They keep an up-to-date local reference guide for those looking for a church, mosque, synagogue, temple or other place of worship, and, if you do not find what you are looking for in the guide, the Chaplaincy team can advise you.
