Colonel Emmanuel Wekem Kotia is the Chief Instructor and Academic Programs Co-ordinator at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), and formerly was in the Artillery Corp of the Ghana Armed Forces.

He visited the University’s Business School yesterday (Wednesday 3 December) to talk to students about his remarkable life story in which he has served in several UN Peacekeeping Missions as a military officer, including four tours with the UN Mission in the Lebanon.

Colonel Kotia, who holds a PhD in Political Science and an MSc in Global Security, also spoke about his time in the UN Interim Force in Lebanon from 2006 and 2007, and how he was a Consultant for the Constitution Review Commission of Ghana. This led him to assist in the drafting of the National Peace Council Bill of Ghana.
