University of Bedfordshire course leader for Photography and Video Art exhibited a series of photographic artwork at the Affordable Art Fair in New York this September.

Nigel Grimmer, a lecturer in Visual Arts Practice at the University, is an established artist working primarily with photography and sculpture.

Nigel’s ‘Art Drag Album’ was part of an eclectic mix of limited edition artwork for sale at the Eyestorm Gallery stand in New York’s Affordable Art Fair.

Nigel’s art projects investigate domestic photography and the social applications of art practice. Many of his photographs are based on interactions with family and friends.

Nigel Grimmer said: “My diverse art practice is united by on-going research exploring issues of identity and representation, specifically the relationship between images created for public and personal consumption. My practice informs the core of my teaching, inspiring studio projects and serving as a model for Professional Practice.?”

The Affordable Art Fair features thousands of original paintings, prints, sculptures and photographs from young emerging artists as well as some of the biggest household names in the industry at prices ranging from $100 to $100,000.

The fair started in London 15 years ago and now takes place throughout major cities worldwide.
