Students at the University of Bedfordshire discovered what it is really like to work on a soap opera when Hollyoaks actor and former Bedfordshire student Duayne Boachie paid them a visit.

Twenty-year-old Duayne, who plays Zack Loveday in Hollyoaks, returned to his old university to share insights into his career with current Media Performance students.

Speaking in the Judith Blake Theatre at the Luton campus, Duayne told the students: “This is the room where I got all my memories from. This is the room I got all my laughs, my experiments - everything. I loved it - being able to be here and express myself.”

Duayne was in his second year of the Media Performance course at the University when he landed the role of Zack in Hollyoaks in 2015. As well as finding fame on TV, Duayne also worked on the film 100 Streets, working alongside Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton.

Course Coordinator for Media Performance Rachel Clark said: “We were delighted to have Duayne back to speak with our current students. As a young actor at the start of his career, Duayne is able to show our students what can be achieved if they work hard and grasp every opportunity offered to them.”
