A celebration of cultural diversity will be hosted at the University of Bedfordshire, Luton campus, on Wednesday 8 May.

Building Bridges: Fostering Intercultural Engagement and Embracing Diversity, will be an evening of public engagement, allowing attendees the opportunity to share their thoughts on diversity, engagement and mixed identities.

The event will be chaired by Professor Alexis Weedon, Director of RIMAP (Research of Institute of Media Art and Performance), and will be joined by academics including Dr Jane Carr and Dr Violet Cuffy plus guest speakers, Chief Executive at Global Carnivalz Ltd, Pax Nidi and Dr Nazia Khanum OBE DL, Chair United Nations Association-Luton.

The event features an exciting cultural ‘expo’ of works from students and staff within the University and some of our key partners within the wider community, reflective of our international research, diverse cultures and collaborative industry projects.

An exploration of different cultural contexts from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Americas and Europe will be presented, to offer a space to reflect upon the experience of diversity in the 21st century.

Beds Talks are free events designed to bring together the public with researchers and practitioners on topics of mutual interest.
