Bedfordshire celebrates strong performance in The Guardian University Guide
Mon 15 September, 2025
The University of Bedfordshire is celebrating a significant climb in The Guardian University Guide 2026, rising 19 places overall and ranking in the top 10 in the UK in a number of subject areas.
The Guardian University Guide recognises Bedfordshire’s growing academic excellence, this year ranking 103rd in the UK, with standout subject performances including:
- 1st in the UK for Mental Health Nursing
- 5th in the UK for Education
- 19th in the UK for Criminology
- 19th in the UK for Paramedic Science
- 25th in the UK for Sport Science
The University has also seen improvements across several key subject areas, including Accounting & Finance (up 65 places), Computer and Information Systems (up 38 places), and Criminology (up 51 places).
This rise builds on Bedfordshire’s success in the National Student Survey 2025, where students rated the University 1st in the region for Learning Opportunities, and 2nd for Student Voice.
This achievement also follows closely on the heels of the University’s success in the Daily Mail’s University Guide last month, marking the second national league table rise in 2025.
Professor Rebecca Bunting, Vice Chancellor, said: “Seeing the University of Bedfordshire continue to rise across national league tables is a fantastic recognition of the dedication of our staff and the talent of our students. We are especially proud that students have rated us so highly for teaching and feedback – placing us 26th in the UK in both areas – as this reflects the quality of our teaching and the supportive learning environment we provide. These results, alongside our subject successes, highlight our commitment to helping every student thrive and succeed.”
