How to use RSS news feeds
How to use the University RSS news and events feeds
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary. It is an XML file that can be read via a special software program called a news reader, feed reader or aggregator.
You can keep up to date with University news and upcoming events by having links to the articles automatically fed to a News Reader installed on your own computer.
There are a number of news readers available for use with different operating systems.
PC Windows
Mac OSX
Windows/Mac/Linux

Works in your web browser
Setting up an RSS feed normally involves copying the URL of the feed (from your browser's address bar) and pasting it into the news reader.
Firefox Live Bookmark
Alternatively, an easy way to use RSS is via Live Bookmarks which is an aggregator facility included with the Firefox browser, which can be downloaded from: www.mozilla.org
