Afaf Dirie

Afaf DirieLecturer in Health & Social Care

I have been teaching health promotion and public health in University of East London since graduating in 2015. I’m interested to explore how health policies support both beliefs and behaviours. This is why I was part of project that started to highlight TB cases in East London by reducing the stigma attached to TB and to increase screening uptake.

I took up my position as Lecturer in Health & Social Care since August 2017 and I have been enjoying developing my student’s critical thinking to link public health and globalisation with social work.
