There are several ways to fund postgraduate study [PDF], and many people are able to complete higher level study, but you will need to be a little more creative about where to find this financial support.

The Postgraduate High Achiever Scholarship is for third year undergraduates at the University of Bedfordshire planning to progress to full-time postgraduate study at the University

The Postgraduate High Achiever Scholarship offers a 50% fee waiver on most postgraduate courses at University of Bedfordshire for any home or EU student who achieves a First at undergraduate level and goes on to start a full-time Master's course in the 2019/20 academic year.

Student Finance can offer a loan of up to £10,906 as a contribution towards course fees and living costs.

You must meet certain nationality and residency criteria, as well as meeting age and previous study criteria.

Sports Scholarships are available for students who have a record of performance in sport and who aspire to train and compete at the highest levels.

The Access to Learning Fund can provide discretionary additional support to Home and EU status students to help them access and remain in higher education if they need help to meet extra costs that cannot be met by other types of support.

Students who are experiencing financial hardship can apply to the fund to help alleviate some unexpected expenses, such as childcare, travel, rent and course related costs.

The General Bursary Fund Ac Yr 2018-2019 Terms and Conditions

The General Bursary fund is open to all current University of Bedfordshire full time UK and EU undergraduate students in any year of study and Foundation students on an integrated four year degree. The bursary amount is £400 and there are 14 bursaries available.

This bursary is designed to assist students financially to support their progression at University. Evidence of academic progression and potential to achieve will also be taken into consideration.

To apply, please complete the General Bursary Fund AcYr 2018 - 2019 Application Form - PDF 210.2 KB including a Personal Statement of your financial need explaining how this award would help you continue with your studies. Please also complete the Financial Assessment section of the form, and submit with all the documents listed on the front of the application.

We require:

  • Three months up to date, consecutive bank statements for all accounts held, with annotations for amounts over £100 (including partners as applicable).
  • Student Finance England/NHS funding notification.
  • Signed tenancy agreement detailing name, rent and address.

All supporting evidence must be handed in at the same time as your application, or the application will be void.

Closing date for applications is by 12 noon of Monday, 25 March 2019.

Applications will be considered by a panel following the above closing date; all decisions of the panel are final.

No applications or evidence received after this date will be considered.

Applicants will be informed by early April 2019.
