Creating more than 2,000 m2 (combined) wildflower meadow on university campus green spaces by 2020.

Community Engagement

By 2020, organise - together with distinct organisations from the community and from public and private sectors - 15 events and activities relating to sustainability at the University which are open to, and attended by, their representatives and members of the public.

Emissions and discharges

Ensure that by 2020 all fossil fuelled boilers are operating with combustion efficiency up to 95%.

Energy and Carbon Management

Reduce Scopes 1 & 2 carbon emissions by 29%, from a 2005/6 baseline of 6,540 tonnes of CO2 by 2017 and 48% by 2020.

Sustainable Construction and Buildings

All new building will continue achieve a Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM), level of excellent as an absolute minimum.

Sustainable Procurement

Reduce 25% of carbon emissions from supply chain network by 2020 against 2005 baseline.

Sustainable Travel

Increase staff & student use of sustainable transport by 25% by 2020 against 2008 baseline.

Water resources

Achieve an absolute reduction of water use of 15% by 2020 against 2008/9 HESA Estates Management Report (EMR) baseline.

Waste Management

Increase internal recycling rates from 45% to 90% by 2020 against a 2012/13 baseline.
