Beds strikes gold in national educational environmental award scheme

The University has been awarded Gold in the EcoCampus award scheme, a national Environmental Management System (EMS) which allows universities to be recognised for addressing key issues of environmental sustainability, including carbon reduction and recycling.

University reduces its carbon emissions for fourth year running

In the last twelve months the University's carbon emissions have dropped by around 630 tonnes, compared with the previous twelve month period. The reduction in carbon emissions was assissted by an investment in a combined heat and power plant at the University's Bedford campus.
