Who can be a member at the Get Active Programme?

Any current student or staff member at the University of Bedfordshire are able to participate in the Get Active Programme. All members should have an active University email address.

How do I become a member?

Memberships are purchased online. Once completed, you will be sent a link to register with EZ, which is the booking facility used for sessions.

How do I pay for my membership?

With restrictions in operation as a result of Covid19, all payments must be made online via the online store. We are unable to accept cash.

Where does my membership cover?

Get Active membership covers all sessions in Bedford and Luton, as well as all external offering which is available to access. Membership is unlimited, so you can attend as many sessions/activities as you like week on week throughout.

When does my membership expire?

All Get Active memberships in the 2020/2021 academic year will expire on September 30th 2021.

Can I use the Gym with my Get Active Membership?

No. Get Active Membership only covers Get Active activities and classes as in the timetable. The Get Active membership only gives you access to Get Active sessions (some of which are in the Gym facilities). If you wish to use to the gym then you will be required to purchase a Gym membership, which includes Get Active.

How do I book a session?

You book sessions via EZ facility or the University of Bedfordshire Sport App (UOBSport). Your session will then appear in “My Sessions” as well as any Zoom links if the session is online. You will also be sent email reminders of sessions booked by EZ system. You must book on to sessions due to track and trace in light of the Covid19 regulations.

You will be registered with EZ facility upon purchasing your membership.

There are some sessions that do not need booking such as Driving Range Golf.

Can I just turn up to Swimming?

You are able to attend any public or Leisure swimming session at Trinity Swimming Pool in Bedford or any of Active Luton’s Swimming Pools at Inspire, Lewsey or Lea Manor.

To swim in Luton, you will need your university ID card and to purchase a go-4-less card for £4 on your first visit. From then, both your ID and go-4-less card will be sufficient to swim for free.

For Bedford Swimming, you will just need to take your University ID card and say you are on the Get Active Programme.

How do I access CrossFit?

In order to access CrossFit, please contact the Get Active team for further instructions.

How do I access driving range Golf & Squash?

Driving range Golf is available to attend at Mowsbury Golf (& Squash) centre in Bedford and Stockwood Park Golf Club in Luton. In order to attend please contact us to request a Get Active access card. This should be shown on arrival and you will be provided with a token to get a basket of Golf Balls.

Squash is available at Mowsbury Golf (& Squash) centre. Please contact Get Active to receive further instructions on how to book a court. At least one member of a booking must be a Get Active member.
