TV Production students have showcased their work at a German film festival, organised by a Bedfordshire graduate and sponsored by the University.

Andrew Griffin, James Spooner, Raghe Keyre and Giles House were among those at the British Shorts, in Berlin, to showcase their film, Pursued.

The 16 minute post apocalyptic feature follows a father and daughter as they struggle to communicate in a post-apocalyptic world, faced with issues from their past that could change everything.

Also at the event was MA Documentary Graduate Martin Thurlow, who screened his film Brewhouse, as well as MA Documentary graduate Ruth Grimberg, who ran her latest film Across Still Water.

The festival, in its 8th year, showcases the best of British short film at a range of venues across Berlin. It is run by MA Documentary graduate Julia Elger and her colleagues who are based in Berlin, and it is sponsored by the University of Bedfordshire in conjunction with the British Council.

Giles House, who was co writer/producer/director of the production, said he was delighted to be a part of it.

Giles, who is studying for a Masters in Creative Digital Film Production having achieved a first in Television Production last year, added: "The aim while making the film was to create something very visual and aesthetically pleasing, this is the reason we shot it in south Wales to take advantage of the wonderful landscapes. It was also a goal while making the film to have it shown at a festival so we are all very pleased about Berlin."

MA Documentary Course leader David Green and Senior lecturer John Digance run question and answer sessions and a 48 hour film challenge workshop where participants have 48 hours to make a film about a Berlin Journey.

Dave said: "It was again an excellent festival and the students benefited greatly from the experience."
