Bedford College, in association with NNCO, held a very successful information event for some of the families who electively home educate locally entitled: Get to Know us Better - Help Us Help You! - on Thursday 22 October in our Restaurant 25 (on the Cauldwell Street Campus).

There were more than 50 children and young people - who were wonderful attendees, so well behaved and engaged - and adults present.

It was a pleasure to meet everyone and many others sent apologies and are keen to attend the next event. The feedback from those present was very positive and after the meeting we felt that we had a much better idea of what possibilities there were for collaborating together, delivering impartial, information, advice and guidance, workshops, tasters and supporting the transition from home education when appropriate.

Also, many attendees saw this as a great opportunity for the EHE community to gather together, the less experienced with the more experienced, to network and share.

We have now put in place an Action Plan in response to the suggestions and 'wishes' put forward and we will report back at our next meeting on 27th January 2016 at the Gateway Building, University of Bedfordshire, Bedford campus, Polhill Avenue on what will be possible to achieve.
