For one night only (Wednesday 16 December) the University of Bedfordshire and Novus Theatre are proud to present its production of James and the Giant Peach.

The play is part of a week-long Roald Dahl reading week, where the University is throwing open its doors to over 2000 local primary school children, with a series of interactive workshops and of course James and the Giant Peach.

As a great end of term treat for all the family, the play will also be open to members of the public. It is being held at the UK Centre for Carnival Arts, and tickets are priced at £6 per adult, £5 child or just £20 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children or 1 adult, 3 children).

This will be the University’s first ever Roald Dahl reading week. Roisin Kendall, Access Partnership Manager at Bedfordshire and organiser of the event said: “This will be outreach in action, designed for local primary children in Luton to become engaged, enthused and inspired by the fantastic literary works of Roald Dahl.

“Through a series of plays and interactive workshops we aim to install confidence and aspiration in reading and writing to support children to become independent readers outside of the school environment.”

The whole University is getting involved in the week, with staff and students planning to get dressed up as their favourite character, as well filming short video clips where they chose their favourite Roald Dahl book.
