Students from CATS faculty some of the most satisfied in the country

The University of Bedfordshire’s Creative Arts, Technologies & Science (CATS) faculty has recorded its highest ever overall satisfaction score in the 2016 National Student Survey (NSS).

CATS have hit a record 88% satisfaction rate, a jump of 3% on last year’s result, with seven of its courses recording 90% or more of its students satisfied.

Indeed students who studied Creative Writing and Media Performance were revealed as  the most satisfied in the country when compared to students on similar courses at other institutions, scoring an impressive 100% overall satisfaction rating, along with those studying Architecture, Building and Planning.

Executive Dean of CATS Prof Jan Domin said: “The whole faculty are delighted to have scored so highly in so many of our courses. Student experience is always our top priority and to be recognised in this way is testament to the way our staff and students work together in partnership.”

The NSS asks final year undergraduates to provide honest feedback on what it has been like to study at their institution. It covers a huge range of questions from quality of teaching to learning resources to student’s personal development.

In all 2,070 final year students from Bedfordshire completed the survey, a response rate of 80%, with 84% of final year students saying they were satisfied with their time spent at the University. The figure means the University of Bedfordshire is now a top 20 university for improving the student experience.
