Welcome Week and Freshers’ events are just around the corner as the University of Bedfordshire gets ready to greet new students and welcome back those returning to their courses.

In partnership with the Students’ Union, the University is putting on a number of fun events throughout the week (16th – 22nd September) to help students settle into university life including a Welcome Party, film nights and more.

New students will also spend the week getting to know other students on their course as well as getting a formal introduction to their course with a special induction week timetable.

And of course the iconic Freshers’ Fayres are once again making a return! The Bedford campus will host the event on Wednesday 20th September from 11am – 3pm, with the Luton campus welcoming new students to grab their freebies and sign up to a host of clubs and societies the following day on Thursday 21st September.

Other events include the return of the ever-popular Beds SU Afro Beats night – which is free for all students to attend – at both the Luton and Bedford campuses, and an entertaining game of mini golf in the Luton welcome marquee!

Throughout the week, the University’s on-campus community and faith hub, Treehouse, will also be open at Luton and Bedford for students of all faiths to relax and mingle together while enjoying some tasty refreshments.

Speaking about the exciting line-up of events, Ruki Heritage, Director of Student Experience, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming new and returning students on to campus for our fantastic schedule of Welcome events! From games nights to cocktail making, there is something for everyone to enjoy and we hope students make the most of this opportunity to make friends and find out more about what the University has to offer.”

New and returning students are also encouraged to download the MyBedsLife student app, which is the best way to stay up-to-date with University news, timetables, and keep track of assignment deadlines. Click here to find out how to download the app via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
